Why Choose NOSS?
NOSS wants everyone to experience the highest quality of life possible. To achieve this goal, we ensure all services and technology provided is the right fit, even if it does not come from us. Integrity is a value we hold in all aspects of our company and we ensure that the person/member is the most important part of the plan. It is not uncommon for NOSS to recommend a solution from a different Remote Supports provider if it is the right thing to do…because that is the right thing to do.
Providing Remote Supports for almost two decades, NOSS has been a pioneer in the evolution of Remote Supports. NOSS began as an idea amongst Dane County Human Services, the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin and a coalition of service providers for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. A system, widely known for decades, for having developed many programs of best practice for people with disabilities. In a simple explanation, the idea was to create a call center, staffed by monitors that had worked in disability related areas, put sensor-based technology in people’s homes and hire a pool of staff that could arrive at someone’s home in a very short time if physical assistance was needed. That program, called Sound Response, would begin supporting people in Dane County, WI in July of 2002 and grow from providing Remote Supports to five people with disabilities to over 350 in December of 2016.
Night Owl Support Systems, LLC (NOSS) is a Remote Supports company, which is a unique a way to support people in their own homes. A unique program pairing technology in the form of remote monitoring/sensing and in-home support through the creative use of remote professional direct-care staff. NOSS is modeled after the Sound Response program at the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (www.waisman.wisc.edu/cow). NOSS began supporting individuals in Wisconsin in September of 2007 with a mission to deliver quality residential support by using technology while becoming a valuable and meaningful part people’s lives.
Assistance To You
NOSS will work with you no matter where you are in the process of using Remote Supports. Whether you have tried a few different programs in the past, or you are entirely new to the idea of technology-assisted independence, we have the solutions and experience needed to guide you through the process at the pace that is right for you. We are willing to meet with providers, individuals, parents, guardians, case managers, and anyone else involved with a person’s support circle.
As technology advances and more features are available, the chances that something goes wrong increases. NOSS routinely tests its technology for functionality and troubleshoots any issues along the way. With transparency and communication in mind, we will be upfront and honest about the status of all deployed technology and keep you informed as to any status updates. Technology is only useful if you are consistently able to use it.
